A NOTE ABOUT DERIVATIVES

The largest image at the top of the page is the full image. Underneath that are sections of the full image called “derivatives,” which means “a work based on or derived from an existing work.” Derivatives zoom in on sections from the full image that might be more appealing. I locate those sections to crop and create the best design I can, create as many “new images” as I can. That’s the beauty of abstract. There can be dozens of images found in one full image. It’s a way to multiply a variety of possibilities for the client to choose from. Sort of like mineral art. A photographer zooms in on a section of a gem rock, cut in two, and snaps a shot of an area that works as an abstract piece of art. As you click on each derivative, it will enlarge as a solo piece for you to get a better sense of its appeal.
